The Organization of Latin American Students (O.L.A.S.) is an organization comprised of members whose cultural heritage belongs to the respective nations of Latin America. For all the intents and purposes, O.L.A.S will serve as a multi-ethnic organization that fosters scholarship, community, and progress centered around the Wooster Latin American community. O.L.A.S. aims to bring cultural, social, and educational awareness of Latinx heritage unknown to the greater student body. This ensures that students are allowed to practice their traditional customs. O.L.A.S. will continue to provide a space on campus for cultural appreciation as well.

Wooster’s Latin@ Student Association therefore will adhere to four main objectives:

  1. Culture:  To promote our culture by organizing, participating, and sponsoring events/activities that celebrate la cultura Latina.
  2. Social:  To promote a Latin@ atmosphere through organizing and/or sponsoring social events in or outside of the campus community.
  3. Community:  To serve our own communities through social/community service.
  4. Familia:  To create a community of friendship, respect, peer support, trust and understanding between all our members.
