Career Planning Committee

The Career Planning Committee offers parents the opportunity to help students enhance their interviewing skills as well as to provide internship and job opportunities to College of Wooster students.  If you are interested in offering your time with any of these opportunities we welcome your participation.

As a Career Planning Committee volunteer you can:

Practice Interviews:

Interested parents will be involved in the “Practice Interview” program by offering students the opportunity to meet individually with a parent while role-playing a job or graduate school interview.  Parents offer immediate verbal feedback and complete a quick written evaluation to share with the student.  Interviewing Guides and training are available to each parent willing to participate.

Internships & Job Searching:

The Office is continually seeking ways for students to gain real-world experience.  If you know of specific summer internship programs or apprenticeships that would be appropriate for liberal arts students, we encourage you to send them to Career Planning.  In these tough economic times, we are looking for “out-of the-box” ways to help students obtain employment after graduation.  In the past, parents have been extremely helpful in offering advice by participating on career panels, sending job opportunities, and sharing their expertise on job searching.
