College of Wooster partners with Wooster Community Hospital affiliate for student health services

The College of Wooster will partner with Bloomington Medical Services, an affiliate of Wooster Community Hospital Health System, to support the Longbrake Student Wellness Center on campus beginning July 1, 2026. By shifting management to BMS, the College provides students on-campus health and wellness services with the strength and expertise of a nationally recognized health system. The College will work with BMS leadership to anticipate and meet the changing needs of students while continuing to enhance quality over time.
“We’re pleased to partner with Wooster Community Hospital, a high-quality, nationally recognized health system, right next to campus,” College of Wooster President Anne McCall said. “As an asset to our community, Bloomington Medical Services is well positioned to provide essential health and wellness services to Wooster students to help them develop a solid foundation for lifelong health.”
As an affiliate of WCH, BMS works with healthcare providers in a wide range of specialties to provide comprehensive medical care throughout the area and will operate the health clinic at Wooster’s Longbrake Student Wellness Center including medical and counseling services for students at the College. Transitioning management to BMS strengthens the health and wellness services available to students by connecting on-campus care to the expertise, specialty services, and resources of a health system recognized nationally for excellence in patient care and safety.
“Wooster Community Hospital Health System is excited to again partner with one of our community’s anchor organizations leveraging our strengths to help serve their students,” said Scott Boyes, President and CEO of Wooster Community Hospital.
Partnerships with major health networks to support student health services are a growing national trend, as colleges and universities work to meet growing student health needs while improving services and efficiencies. Serving Wayne County, Ohio since 1950, WCH has been nationally recognized for excellence by PINC AI/Fortune magazine as a Top 100 Hospital in the U.S., Becker’s Hospital Review 100 Great Community Hospitals List, Newsweek World’s Best Hospitals, and the 2026 Forbes Top Hospitals List. The College has partnered with WCH in myriad ways from the Community Care Network program to pandemic response and readiness coordination. The partnership to manage the College’s health and wellness services is a natural extension of that relationship.
