Members of First Responders in front of Wellness CenterFirst Responders is designed to aid in the medical care of the campus community. We are trained to aid the nurses at Longbrake Student Wellness Center in student care based on national standards for First Responders and Emergency Medical Technicians. We volunteer our time on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights throughout the academic year, while learning how to impact the way we shape health and student involvement. We follow HIPAA regulations, as well as the Code of Social Responsibility, the Code of Academic Integrity, and the Wooster Ethic.

Our Mission:

  •  Increase the responsibility of First Responders by coordinating with Campus Safety and Residence Life to better understand school policies and procedures and our role within them.
  • To provide a space that allows for the application of knowledge found in the classroom to create a present impact on equity and healthcare within the College of Wooster Campus.
  • Advertise our presence and skills to the student body as another resource in the event of a medical situation, and further the student body’s understanding of our jobs and any repercussions if we are contacted.
  • Increase the professionalism of the team and the responsibility of those in leadership positions to keep training up to date, in order to maintain the credentials of EMS personnel.
