APEX Fellowships are College-funded summer internship opportunities that would otherwise be unpaid or under-paid at non-profit partner organizations

APEX Fellowships provide structure and mentored support to students engaged in unpaid summer internships or vocational exploration programs of at least six weeks (or at least 225 hours) in duration. The student will develop their professional skills in a “real world” opportunity with the mentorship of the partner organization and College of Wooster faculty.

Benefits to Partner Organization:

  • Benefit from the participant’s quality work with no or low cost to the organization
  • College of Wooster provides some oversight from faculty
  • Intern may bring new aptitudes, different perspectives, expertise, comfort with technology and social media, etc.
  • Introduction to Wooster students that could lead to full-time employment

Benefits to Students:

  • Opportunity to apply classroom knowledge and skills to a real-world work experience
  • Gain relevant experience and develop new skills with a local organization
  • Strengthen ties to the community
  • Meet new people and broaden professional and personal networks
  • Compensation and course credit
