The College of Wooster’s Department of Theatre and Dance will present its annual Fall Dance Concert, Nov. 21, 22, and 23, in the Freedlander Theatre (329 E. University Street) at 7:30 p.m.

Directed by Emily Baird, assistant professor of theatre and dance, the upcoming concert features 10 pieces, entirely choreographed, designed, performed, and stage managed by students in The College of Wooster Dance Company. One of two dance concerts the department puts on each year, the Fall Dance Concert seats audience members on all four sides of the stage for a more intimate “in-the-round” modern dance experience.

Each concert brings students from many disciplines together and provides a space for them to connect through dance,” Baird said. “This show is an opportunity for students to develop their skills in choreography, dance technique, design, and construction outside of the classroom.”

More than 50 students, both cast and crew, participated in the production. They began collaborating in early September, with the 2024 Fall Dance Concert marking the culmination of many hours of hard work. Student choreographers include Daphne Trillana ’27, Emma Hetkey ’26, Aliza Sosin ’25, Larissa Cardine ’26, Shannon Dunning ’27, Molly Sugar ’26, Abby Rahz ’25, Lexi Neal ’26, Lauren Segura ’26, and Co Clark ’25. Each piece in the concert explores a unique movement style, and choreographers investigate original concepts such as intuition, found ancestors, and museum sculptures brought to life.

This concert is free and open to the public, but audiences are encouraged to reserve their tickets in advance. Tickets can be reserved starting Monday, Nov. 18. online or at the box office in Freedlander Theatre. For more information, call 330-263-2241.
