External Tuition Benefits
The College of Wooster is proud to participate in two major tuition exchange programs that offer scholarship opportunities for eligible dependent students of employees at member institutions.
Tuition Exchange Program
The College of Wooster is a member of the Tuition Exchange organization, which includes over 700 colleges and universities. Tuition Exchange (TE) is a reciprocal scholarship opportunity for dependents of eligible faculty and staff at member schools.
Wooster Tuition Exchange Scholarship
Eligibility
- Available to first-year applicants or transfer students.
- Applicants that have been admitted to Wooster.
- Dependents of an eligible faculty or staff member of a participating member school (exporting institution).
- Applicants that have been certified as a Tuition Exchange candidate by their exporting institution.
Award Details
- For the 2026–2027 academic year, Wooster offers $45,000 to entering students, exceeding the Tuition Exchange set rate of $44,000.
- Renewable for up to 8 semesters for full-time, degree seeking students.
- Scholarships are limited and awarded to the most competitive candidates.
- May be applied only to tuition charges, including Wooster-sponsored study abroad programs.
- May be combined with other Wooster merit or interest-based scholarships, not to exceed tuition. Awards exceeding tuition become honorary.

Great Lakes Colleges Association Tuition Remission Exchange Program
The College of Wooster also participates in the Great Lakes Colleges Association (GLCA) Tuition Remission Exchange (TRE) program, operated by the Great Lakes Colleges Association. The GLCA is comprised of twenty participating institutions, which includes the thirteen colleges of the GLCA.
GLCA Tuition Benefit at Wooster
Eligibility
- Each participating institution determines the eligibility criteria for participation in the GLCA Tuition Remission Exchange (TRE) for dependents of its employees.
- Eligible students must be enrolled full-time in a degree-seeking program.

Award Details
- The GLCA Tuition Benefit amount is equal to the corresponding academic year’s tuition (excluding fees) minus any tuition specific state or federal grant aid the student is eligible to receive. The 2025-2026 cost of tuition is $63,490.
- Students receiving the GLCA tuition benefit are responsible for a participation fee. For 2025-2026, the GLCA participation fee is $5,892.
- To simplify billing, the GLCA participation fee is subtracted from the GLCA award amount upfront, rather than being charged separately. For 2025-2026, the GLCA Tuition Benefit amount awarded is $57,598.
- Renewable for up to 8 semesters for full-time, degree seeking students.
- May be applied only to tuition charges, including Wooster-sponsored study abroad programs.
- Cannot be combined with other Wooster merit or interest-based scholarships. Any Wooster merit or interest-based scholarships will be honorary.
Application Process
- Confirm your eligibility with the TRE representative at your parent’s employer, typically in the Human Resources Department.
- Notify Wooster’s Financial Aid Office of your eligibility by completing and submitting the GLCA-TRE Eligibility Form.
- Once you’ve finalized your enrollment, electronically complete, print, sign, and submit the GLCA TRE Enrollment Form to the TRE representative at your parent’s employer.
- The TRE representative at your parents’ employer should finalize your eligibility by submitting the completed GLCA TRE Enrollment Form to Wooster’s TRE representative at benefits@wooster.edu.
Renewal
- Exporting institutions must confirm eligibility annually.
- Electronically complete, print, sign, and submit the GLCA TRE Enrollment Form to your parent’s employer’s TRE representative.
- The TRE representative at your parent’s employer should finalize your eligibility by submitting the completed GLCA TRE Enrollment Form to Wooster’s TRE representative at benefits@wooster.edu.
